A Scout is Reverent

In keeping with every Scout's obligation to his God, two young men in Troop 14 were recently recognized for having completed a challenging course of study in the sacraments of their faith.

Greg B. and Sam S. received the Ad Altare Dei award.

"The purpose of the Ad Altare Dei (to the altar of God) program is to help Catholic Scouts of the Roman Rite develop a fully Christian way of life in the faith community. The program is organized in chapters based on the seven Sacraments. The seven Sacraments are a primary means toward spiritual growth."

Greg B. is a Life Scout and is a freshman at St. Francis de Sales High School. Greg is a dedicated student, an accomplished pianist, and ejoys snow skiing. Greg has served in a variety of leadership positions within Troop 14, including Assistant Senior Patrol Leader.

Sam S. is also a Life Scout. Sam attends St. Pius X School, where he is in the Eighth Grade. Sam is an honor student, is a member of the St. Francis de Sales High School Marching Band, and is presently serving in his second term as Troop 14 Historian.
